The Pockwood Pond Site
The image below shows the proposed location of the lobster farm development phase facility superimposed on a TCP digital aerial photograph of the site.

The red lines show the boundaries of the land allocated for this project and the internal boundaries of the land use therein. The area marked A will house the forty grow out tanks and the auxiliary filter tanks for the first development stage module. The blue lines represent the probable configuration of the forty 400 gallon tanks; each with its own cover. The area marked B has an existing foundation for a building. This area will be used for a one storey building that will house the site office and workshop. In addition to the land use boundaries the red line marked Pipe Line indicates the most likely route for the sea water intake pipe line. This pipeline will extend 500 meters from the South Eastern corner of the site. This line will run roughly 400 meters out into the Sir Francis Drake Channel and will be secured to the bottom such that the intake is 100 meters up current of any boat moorings. It is anticipated that the intakes will be at a depth of 15-20 meters and thus out of danger from surface pollutants like petroleum or fresh water run off plumes. |
